Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was only five her family moved to Oxfordshire and attended at the Dragon School. Since the age of 6 Emma was aware that she was going to become an actress. For a number of years she trained at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre academy where she studied singing dancing and acting. At the age of 10, she had performed and taken the lead in various Stagecoach productions and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone The 2001 film adaption from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was announced in 1999. Casting agents found Emma from her Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, as well as Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been selected for the roles. They cast her alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first appearance on the big screen took place in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. The film set records for beginning-day and weekend-opening sales and became the top-grossing movie in the year 2001. It was highly praised by reviewers, and so were the performances of its three young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a widely read British publication, gave Emma high marks for her exceptional performance. Emma's performance was nominated and received five awards for the film.
